The physicality of repair

The canvas, once cut apart and sewn back together, carries its wounds openly. The Physicality of Repair explores healing as an act of integration rather than restoration — a visible testament to endurance, vulnerability, and the beauty of what remains marked yet whole.

Technique:
The canvas was deliberately cut apart and stitched back together using coarse thread before repainting over the seams. Paint was dragged, scraped, and layered to emphasize the tactile scars of making. This process transforms the surface into a body — one that carries both the wound and the trace of care.
